NEWPORT, R.I. – Members of the public are invited to join the Salve Regina University community on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. for an interfaith gathering to celebrate peace. Hosted by the university’s Mercy Center for Spiritual Life, the “Festival of Lights” celebration will be held in the Great Hall of Ochre Court, 100 Ochre Point Ave.
Free and open to the public, this year’s celebration of songs, dances and prayers for peace will feature special guests, Katherine and Christopher Carbone, sacred movement and music artists. The program is dedicated to Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani activist who advocated for education for all children.
