NEWPORT, R.I. – The non-partisan League of Women Voters of Newport County will be on campus on Tuesday, Sept. 25 to register new voters as part of National Voter Registration Day. Salve Regina students and members of the community may register from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the lobby of the O’Hare Academic Center, Ochre Point Avenue.
Students will need to bring valid identification with them and if they wish to register to vote in Rhode Island, they will need to bring proof of a local address. There will also be information about obtaining absentee ballots and computers will be set up to facilitate online voter registration.
National Voter Registration Day is a nationwide, non-partisan effort created to bring volunteers, civic groups and organizations together to register thousands of voters on a single day, Sept. 25.
