NEWPORT, R.I. – For the third time in four years, Salve Regina’s club rugby team will compete in the National Small College Rugby Organization’s Division III national tournament being held in Denver, Colo. this weekend.
Salve Regina is scheduled to play Franciscan University in the semifinals at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 28, with the championship match taking place at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29. Live streaming of all matches will be available at nscro.org.
Salve Regina advanced to this year’s national semifinals by winning the New England Rugby Football Union title and the Region 1 Northeast championship last November. During last spring’s final four, Salve Regina suffered a semifinal loss to Longwood University before beating Ithaca College in the consolation match.
The Salve Regina team will be departing from Rodgers Recreation Center tomorrow, April 26, at 2:30 p.m.
