University to celebrate grand opening of Warwick site

NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University students, faculty, staff and administrators will celebrate the grand opening of its 12,000-square-foot Center for Adult Education at 144 Metro Center Blvd. in Warwick on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

 

The event will feature remarks from Salve Regina President Jane Gerety, R.S.M., Board of Trustees Chairman Janet Robinson and Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian.

 

Following a brief speaking program set to begin at 5 p.m., refreshments will be served and tours of the new facility will be available. An information session for current and prospective students, and others interested, will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The session will include demonstrations on how to use technology at the new site, as well as information about the University’s graduate and continuing education programs.

 

The new Center for Adult Education will provide instructional, student and faculty space in a location convenient to students in Greater Providence. Courses at the Warwick site will be offered year-round in both the traditional classroom and hybrid formats.

 

Salve Regina offers nine master's degrees, a doctorate in humanities and several four-course graduate certificates. Programs include administration of justice and homeland security, management, business administration, rehabilitation counseling and health care administration and management.

 

Salve Regina also offers bachelor’s degrees in business administration, accounting and marketing, as well as an RN-B.S. in nursing and a liberal studies degree for students bringing in 60 or more credits from other regionally accredited institutions.
