NEWPORT, R.I. – The work of 11 faculty members in Salve Regina University’s art department will be on display when the 2011 Faculty Exhibition opens on Thursday, Oct. 13 at Dorrance H. Hamilton Gallery.
The public is invited to attend the Oct. 13 opening reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Gallery, located in the Antone Academic Center, corner of Lawrence and Leroy avenues. Refreshments will be served.
Organized by Ernest Jolicoeur, the new Gallery director, this biannual exhibition highlights some of the most dynamic work currently being made by the artists and art historians of the university’s art department. The installation features work in the areas of photography, painting, ceramics, graphic design, sculpture, art history and interactive media.
The 2011 Faculty Show will remain open for public viewing through Nov. 9. Gallery hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
