Salve players present ‘Rent!’ at Casino Theatre with 10 shows April 16-26
Salve Regina’s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance will present Jonathan Larson’s award-winning rock musical, Rent!, for two weeks at the Casino Theatre, 9 Freebody St.
Directed by Reggie Phoenix, associate professor of theatre, performances will be given at 8 p.m. on April 16-18 and April 23-25, with 2 p.m. performances on April 18, 19, 25 and 26. For ticket information or reservations, contact the Box Office at (401) 341-2250 or www.tinyurl.com/salvecasino.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors, students and military, and $8 for Salve Regina Students, faculty and staff.
Set at the dawn of the 1990s, eight New Yorkers lives are tied together as they struggle with their careers, love lives, and the effects of the AIDS epidemic on their community. The ninth longest running Broadway show of all time, Rent is a powerful rock musical involving issues about money, drugs, sex, addiction, mourning, sexuality, and disease. Despite these hardships, however, love can be an even stronger force than anything.
Members of the cast include: Nate Flachs as Mark, Matt Royality-Lindman as Roger, Hunter Nicolson as Benny, Clayon McFarlane as Collins, Kenneth Benell as Angel, Mariana Bracciale as Joanne, Racquel Jean-Louis as Mimi and Sarah Birkhofer as Maureen. Members of the company also include Mark Benedetti, Kerry Collins, Alexandra D’Agostino, Jacqueline Dest, Jacob Fernades, Laura Jednasty, Mikayla Kenneway and Maria Smith.
