HABIB TO GIVE KEYNOTE AT YOUNG LEADERS ACADEMY IN LOUISVILLE
NEWPORT, R.I. - Dr. Khalil Habib, assistant professor of philosophy at Salve Regina University, has been invited to serve as the keynote speaker at the prestigious Young Leaders Academy at the McConnell Center at the University of Louisville, July 15-18.
Habib has been asked to speak on "Islam and the West," which he will present on Wednesday, July 15. He will follow up with a mini seminar on the history of sharia law in Islam and the influence of Ibn Khaldun.
The 2009 Young Leaders Academy focuses on America's role in the global community and whether that role is transforming before our eyes. Participants in the Academy will be involved with lectures, debates, and activities discussing politics, religion, history, war, oil and more.
