NEWPORT, R.I. - Dragana Dulic, professor and director of the Center for Human Security Studies at the University of Belgrade, Serbia, will present a public lecture, "The Geopolitics of Humanitarian Assistance," at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at Salve Regina's Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy.
Dulic's lecture is part of the NATO Advanced Research Workshop (ARW), "Achieving Environmental Security: Ecosystem Services and Human Welfare," being held July 6-10. The overall goal of the ARW is to define, design and develop efficient and effective ecosystem service management strategies that prove critically useful for making better policy choices to achieve environmental security and enhance human welfare.
Advanced Research Workshop participants, representing countries world-wide, will be touring NHEERL's Atlantic Ecology Division on July 9 as part of the workshop. The AED staff will present overviews of EPA and the research conducted in ORD's Ecosystem Services Research Program, and will introduce specific ongoing research being conducted at AED during a walking tour of the facility.
