Environmental Club screens “REUSE!” documentary, hosts Q&A with filmmaker on April 20

Salve Regina’s Environmental Club, in collaboration with Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corp., will present a one-time screening of “REUSE! Because You Can’t Recycle the Planet,” and host a Q&A with the film’s director, Alex Eaves, as part of the university’s Earth Week celebration.

The event, free and open to the public, will be presented in Bazarsky Lecture Hall, located in O’Hare Academic Center, Ochre Point Avenue, on Wednesday April 20 at 6 p.m.

“REUSE! Because You Can't Recycle the Planet” follows Reuse Pro Alex Eaves' cross-country adventure to the 48 contiguous states. On his journey, he finds endless reuse solutions for our waste problem that are not only sustainable, but many of which are easy and fun. Ultimately, he learns how reuse truly benefits “people, planet, and wallet.”

The event aims to educate the community about ways to make a meaningful impact.

Eaves is a self-proclaimed “Reuse Pro” who operated the award-winning reuse apparel brand, STAY VOCAL, for 10 years. In April 2013, he launched a successful Kickstarter campaign for his REUSE! Documentary project.
