Certified Salve students offer free tax help for public

Salve Regina University accounting students in cooperation with AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) will conduct a tax service that is open to the public from 1 to 5 p.m. every Wednesday through April 15 in McKillop Library, first floor.

Tax students of Paul McKillop, senior lecturer in business studies and economics, who have passed advanced AARP certification will prepare tax returns for members of the public. Once the returns – both federal and state – are reviewed by the AARP controller, they will be e-filed. To participate, people must bring tax forms, social security numbers and identification. The service is being provided on a first come, first served basis.
