The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is a student-driven organization that strives to provide a diverse and continuous roster of programming for the Salve Regina community. Events sponsored by CAB seek to fulfill the ideals of the University mission and provide opportunities for students to enhance and complement their campus experience.
More than 40 students hold membership in the Campus Activities Board. Each member works closely with one of five CAB committees, all with different objectives and goals. Committees include:
If you ever need a laugh, the comedy committee delivers. Beyond stand-up comics, the committee seeks to bring anything that draws a laugh, including game shows, improv, magicians, hypnotists and more.
Live music is always entertaining. Throughout the year, the concerts committee presents local bands and rising stars such as Casey Weston from the Voice. April's spring concert has featured nationally known artists ranging from Sammy Adams to Gym Class Heroes to Timeflies.
Every other Thursday, the special events committee presents Things for Thursday novelties like the sign shop, Spike's hot dogs and Del's Lemonade. Food, activities, crafts and more are all free during Things for Thursday events. The committee also organizes the Halloween Dance and Snoball Dance.
The spotlight committee presents educational and motivational speakers that shed light on some of today's hottest topics, including alcohol consumption, diversity, survivors and more. Speakers such as Boston Marathon bombing survivor Heather Abbott share experiences or discuss topics that they are passionate about.
Travel and Outdoor
The travel and outdoor committee presents weekend trips to spots throughout New England, including sporting events, zip lining, whitewater rafting, overnight and daylong ski trips, zoos, Broadway musicals and more. Tickets for these trips are sold in the Office of Student Activities.
