The campus crime statistics report is available to all
faculty, staff, students and visitors as mandated by the Clery Act, which
requires institutions of higher education to publish an annual report
disclosing their campus security policies and the past three years of crime
statistics. The report is published on this Web site, submitted to the
Department of Education and widely distributed in hardcopy.
The Clery Act also requires that the University maintain
a public crime log. The Office of Safety and Security completes a daily log
with information on all incidents occurring on campus, which is available for
inspection during business hours at the office, located in Tobin Hall.
Crimes involving violence, major property loss or felony
charges are reported immediately to the Newport Police Department. In addition,
the Office of Safety and Security sends electronic notices to members of the Salve
Regina community alerting them to crimes considered to be a threat to students
and employees.
