Learning happens both in and outside of the classroom. The Center for Student Development values the importance of learning and student transformation, and aims to support students in the expansion of their learning opportunities while at Salve Regina.
Grounded in academic, personal and holistic student success, the center provides programs, exploratory advising and mentoring opportunities for all students. Academic programs and student services consist of Class Deans, peer mentoring and comprehensive student experience programs.
Class Deans are current faculty members who serve as mentors and support students' academic, personal and holistic success. Class Deans move with students as they progress toward graduation. They are a source of inspiration and a resource to enhance students' learning and co-curricular experience at Salve Regina.
Experience programs - including the first year, sophomore, junior and senior year experience - provide students with multiple and intentional activities and programs that speak to their learning, experiential and developmental goals.
The center also supports the transition of transfer students into the Salve Regina community. Working with Admissions and the Office of the Registrar, the center provides advising support for new transfer students and connects them with a class, a class experience and a Class Dean.
