Resources

The American Philosophical Association

The site for professional scholars and philosophers in the United States, hosted by the University of Delaware. Unfortunately, membership is required to log-on to some features, such as job listings, but an excellent resource nonetheless. Among the resources: publications; calls for papers; newsletters; and a listing of scholarly Philosophy Web sites (libraries, courses, guides, electronic texts, bibliographies).

The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy

A vast collection of texts and scholarly journal articles, recommended by Dr. Eveleth. Texts may be downloaded for academic use, and a very fast search engine gets to articles in no time. Among the text holdings: Berkeley, Descartes, Epicurus, Hume Archives, Kant, and Lao Tzu.

The Internet Classics Archive

A full 441 classic texts available at this beautifully clear site, and all are in English translation.

Also here: links to discussions about the different works, and books and CD-ROMs for sale. Most authors are Greco-Roman, but the list is exhaustive.
