To qualify for the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing, students in the four year campus-based program must satisfactorily complete a total of 131 credits, with a minimum of 65 earned credits in nursing courses in addition to the nursing curriculum support courses, and the Common Core and Core Complement courses required of all Salve Regina students.
Salve Regina offers registered nurses the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing. This degree completion program is for registered nurses currently working in the field of nursing and who have earned at least 45 undergraduate academic credits prior to application to this program. The courses in this program are open only to the students accepted in the degree completion program.
Students in the degree completion program, in addition to being subject to the specific didactic and clinical education requirements of this degree program, are also subject to academic and financial policies published in this undergraduate catalog. This includes the requirements for academic progression, grading and graduation policies, and federal loan eligibility. Once a student is accepted into the nursing major, the following standards for progression and retention within the program apply.
The Department of Nursing has selected Assessment Technologies Incorporated (ATI) as the review and testing package for NCLEX-RN preparation throughout the nursing program. In order to earn a passing grade in a nursing course the student must achieve the national proficiency benchmark on the computerized exam.
