Ed Habershaw begins his 16th season as head women's tennis coach at Salve Regina University. His career record of 177 wins and 66 losses (.728) includes 10 conference championships and three runner-up finishes on the women's side. Habershaw also guided the Salve Regina men's tennis program for four years in the 1990s, winning three conference championships.

Habershaw took over the coaching reigns from Jerri DiCamillo in 1992 and led the Seahawks to a 107-23 mark before taking a two-year leave from coaching while earning his master's degree at Salve Regina. He returned in 2003 and promptly guided the women's team to its first of three-consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships.

A three-time Commonwealth Coast Conference Coach of the Year, Habershaw has coached four women's players who have been recognized by the conference with the Senior Scholar-Athlete Award: Christen Barrasso '98, Hikari Tamura '00, Laura Valcourt '02 and Katie Wright '06.

His teams have embraced the philosophy, "Positive thoughts produce positive results." Program highlights instituted under Habershaw include an annual Halloween practice, a spring season, and a regular trip south during Spring Break.

After graduating from Bryant College in 1986, Habershaw worked at an advertising agency in his hometown before moving on to a four-year stint as sports producer at a top-rated radio station in Rhode Island. He has served as Salve Regina's sports information director since 1992.

Habershaw and his wife, Lynne, reside in Warwick with their two children, Taylor and Kiernan.
