NEWPORT, R.I. - The latest rankings released by Sailing World show a leap for Salve Regina from No. 20 nationally to an all-time high of No. 11. This recognition comes after finishing seventh (out of 20 of the nation's best teams) at the Danmark Intersectional Regatta held at the United States Coast Guard Academy on October 3-4, and second overall at the Hood Intersectional at Tufts on September 26-27.
Seahawk assistant coach Michael Komar commented that it is still relatively early in the season and "it will be difficult to maintain such a high rank, but it does bode well for the spring and the quest for a berth at the national championship in Wisconsin."
Salve Regina competes at Bowdoin, Coast Guard, Hobart, and Roger Williams this weekend.
