NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University senior quarterback Jeff St. Onge (Kingston, R.I.) and sophomore Carlos Santos (Trumbull, Conn.) have been named to the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Honor Roll.
St. Onge completed 24-of-37 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns in the Seahawks 27-20 win at Bridgewater St. on Saturday. He threw touchdown passes of 52 and 65 yards, respectively, and threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Michael Dargan (Meriden, Conn.) with 3:57 remaining to break a 20-20 tie and lift the Seahawks (1-2) to their first win of the season.
Santos, meanwhile, recorded a game-high 11 tackles (seven solo) and a pair of sacks. As a whole, the defense recorded four sacks, which is the Seahawks highest total since tallying four against Curry on Oct. 4, 2008 - a span of eight games.
Last season, St. Onge was named NEFC Player of the Week after throwing for 332 yards and four touchdowns and rushing for a fifth in a 46-14 win over Maritime (N.Y.) on Sept. 12. He was also named to the Honor Roll after scoring four touchdowns (three pass, one rush) in a 28-12 win over Nichols on Oct. 11. Santos' selection is the first of his career.
The Seahawks return to action on Saturday when they host Endicott at Gaudet Field at 3 p.m.
