Birrell Named TCCC Rookie of the Week
NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University freshman Kaitlyn Birrell (Hope, R.I.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's soccer Rookie of the Week.
Birrell recorded seven points (3-1-7) in her first three collegiate games last week. In her first collegiate game, Birrell netted a pair of goals to lead the Seahawks (1-2) to a 2-0 win at WPI. She added an assist in a loss to Bridgewater State on Thursday and scored one of the Seahawks three goals in a 4-3 loss to Fitchburg State on Saturday. She leads the team in both goals and points.
The Seahawks return to action on Saturday when they travel to New England College for a game at noon.
