Each year, Salve Regina welcomes students from around the
world, including freshmen, transfer, graduate, second degree and exchange students. Our
international students bring a unique perspective to campus, which
is valued by students, faculty and staff.
The Office of International Programs assists prospective international students with the application process and newly accepted students with all pre-arrival steps including travel documentation, applying for a visa, getting to Newport, housing and things to bring. We also host a weeklong international student orientation that helps make the transition to life at Salve Regina as smooth as possible.
Once international students have begun their studies at Salve Regina, our dedicated team is available on a regular basis, assisting with the federal and state regulations affecting international students (immigration, taxes) as well as supporting students academically, culturally and personally. Our office coordinates a student mentor program and other support programming designed to support the specific needs of international students, such as workshops on cultural adjustment, the American classroom and workshops on employment opportunities.
