The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
requires applicants to complete 150 academic credits prior to sitting for the C.P.A.
examination. While this requirement cannot be achieved within the normal
eight-semester, four-year program of study, Salve Regina’s five year programs leading
to a master’s degree in business administration or management provide a viable
option for students wishing to earn C.M.A., C.F.A. or C.P.A. certifications.
Students majoring
in accounting take a minimum of 23 courses (72 credits).
