Department of Business Studies and Economics

Salve Regina's Department of Business Studies and Economics prepares undergraduates for careers in today's highly competitive global business environment.

Our broad-based curriculum, endorsed by an advisory board of industry professionals and accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, introduces students to management theories, business practices and the technology that enhances both productivity and the effective utilization of all resources. The undergraduate business programs accredited by the IACBE include the B.S. in accounting, business administration, financial management, global business and economics, and marketing.

Courses are taught by approachable faculty members who know their students and use their combination of academic and practical experience to both instruct and advise.

Beyond the lecture hall, our department extends into the real world. Through local internships and service learning options, students have numerous opportunities to practice their business skills and improve their resumes while providing a necessary service to the community. By choosing to study abroad, they experience firsthand the culture, language and business practices of other countries while gaining a deeper understanding of the dynamic and culturally diverse world in which we live.

Unique among business programs, we integrate a liberal arts tradition with the University's mercy and justice mission to emphasize ethical and moral decision-making, the responsibilities of leadership and the development of equitable business solutions. As a result, our graduates emerge as engaged, principled world citizens prepared for success in all areas of business - from Wall Street to Main Street.

Through the University's accelerated program, highly motivated and qualified undergraduates can earn both a bachelor's and master's degree within five years.
