Internships for biology majors are designed individually
since each student has a particular career objective. Students who wish to
pursue an internship discuss this with their faculty adviser, who directs them
to the appropriate person for internal mentorship. Together, the internal
faculty member and the student explore places for internships, petition the
organization or business, design a program and determine the outcomes that are
to be achieved.
Biology majors often have internships with individual
practitioners, such as physicians, dentists, nutritionists and physical
therapists, while some contact agencies for their internships.
