Certificate in Business and Management Technology

The undergraduate certificate in business and management technology is designed to address many of the skills gaps in today's economy. Students will complete at least two external software certifications, learn to manage large projects, acquire critical business communication skills and create a plan for an e-commerce operation considering various business and revenue models.

Students who complete the undergraduate certificate in business and management technology are eligible to apply to the B.S. in business administration program and apply all of their certificate coursework to the degree program.

Curriculum

Students completing the undergraduate certificate in business and management technology take a minimum of five courses (15 credits).

Required courses:

  • IC3 Certification: Internet and Computing Core Certification
  • Business Communications
  • Project Management
  • Microsoft Certified Application Specialist
  • eCommerce/eBusiness

Students are encouraged to complete the following one-credit courses to improve their computer skills prior to enrolling in Microsoft Certified Application Specialist:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft PowerPoint

Part of the undergraduate certificate in business and management technology, Internet and Computing Core Certification provides an introduction to computer technology and concepts. Students receive thorough instruction on the various uses of the computer, important accessories, networking principles and key applications, along with e-mail and Internet principles.
