Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System
The National Center for Education
Statistics' core postsecondary education data collection program, the Integrated
Postsecondary Education Data System is a
single, comprehensive system designed to encompass all institutions and
educational organizations providing postsecondary education. The system is
built around a series of interrelated components that collect institution-level
data in areas such as enrollment, program completions, graduation rates,
faculty, staff, finances, institutional prices and financial aid.
Campus Crime and Security Statistics
Campus safety and security is an
important feature of higher education. The U.S. Department of Education assists
schools in providing students with a safe learning environment and keeping
students, parents and employees well informed about security. The department is
responsible for enforcing the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act, which
requires colleges to collect information and publish an annual report on campus
crime statistics and campus security policies.
